The Griffin Charitable Foundation donated $10,000.00 to My Pal Spencer, a foundation started to raise awareness about Sanfilippo Syndrome. Spencer was diagnosed with Sanfilippo Syndrome at 3 years old, a condition that causes brain damage and has a life expectancy of about 15 years. Sanfilippo Syndrome is a rare genetic metabolism disorder; the change in a certain gene makes the child's body unable to break down certain carbohydrates, leading to serious problems affecting the brain and nervous system. There is no cure yet for Sanfilippo Syndrome.
